Pastor David Mitchell, Tulmochusee Indian Baptist Church, blows the Pufketa (the horn) that calls the members to service. The original log church, built around 1870, was recently removed because it had become unsafe. This Church was built, as is tradition for all Creek churches-facing east. It is believed that when Hesaketumese (Christ) comes, he will come from the east with the sunrise.
