Ladies from Alabama Quarsarty Church visit outside a family camp house while the visitors eat dinner inside. These camps are equipped with electricity, stoves, cabinets, dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, tables, benches, chairs, refrigerators, sofas, beds, and other items. The camps are similar to regular houses, and may be lived in at any time needed. In the early days people would come to church in wagons and bring tents, or walk and carry their supplies. Their main purpose is for use when the church services last all weekend. Image copyright Tom Fields 2002 |
